Château de Bruniquel
Château de Bruniquel is a historic castle complex in Bruniquel, Tarn-et-Garonne, France, traditionally described as two linked châteaux (château vieux and château jeune). The site preserves a 12th-century keep, 13th-century residential ranges and a late 15th–early 16th-century 'château jeune' with a Renaissance gallery. The monument has been classified and restored and is open to the public.

A compact mass of pale dressed stone buildings perched on a sheer, pink-tinged limestone cliff above a river confluence, backed by woodland. Volumes step along the cliff edge with steep tiled roofs; a medieval keep (Tour de Brunehaut) anchors one end and 13th-century residential ranges sit nearby. A long Renaissance gallery of six semicircular arcades projects on stone arches over the cliff face; walls and window openings present a mix of medieval and Renaissance masonry.

The Château de Bruniquel is in fact two linked castles in Tarn-et-Garonne. Of the early twelfth-century castle only partial foundations, stretches of wall and the keep survive — the so-called Tour de Brunehaut, named after Queen Brunehaut.
The "château vieux" keeps its twelfth-century tower from the era when the castle was the property of the Counts of Toulouse, with a residence added in the thirteenth century and a Renaissance gallery later still. The "château jeune", built between 1485 and 1510 and remodelled in the Baroque period, dominates the confluence of the Aveyron and the Vère from a height of 90 metres, its Renaissance gallery carrying six arcades.
The site was altered repeatedly in the thirteenth, fifteenth, seventeenth and nineteenth centuries — one chimney was even removed in the 1800s and installed in the dining room of the Château de Lastours at Réalville. Owned by the commune since 1987, the castle is open to the public from March to mid-November.
