The service

Clan Rising documents the history of European family names and offers interactive historical experiences built around them, including AI-narrated adventures. The catalogue is researched with care but provided as is: it is a work of heritage storytelling, not certified genealogy, and no entry should be relied on as proof of descent or for any legal purpose.

Your account

Signing in requires a Google account. You are responsible for activity on your account. We may suspend or close accounts that abuse the service, attempt to circumvent its safeguards or payment systems, or use it unlawfully.

Clan Coins and purchases

Clan Coins are a virtual currency used inside Chat With Your Ancestors — for story turns and scene images. They have no cash value, cannot be transferred, sold or exchanged, and are not redeemable for money. Prices and what a coin buys may change; we will not reduce a balance you have already purchased.

The monthly plan adds its coin allowance each billing cycle; the coin pouch is a one-time purchase. You can cancel a subscription at any time from Manage plan — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Purchases are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise or where we choose to make a refund; if something goes wrong on our side (for example a paid generation that fails), we return the coins.

AI-generated content

The stories, characters and scene images in Chat With Your Ancestors are fiction generated by AI. They are inspired by history but are not history: dates, people and events may be invented or inaccurate, and no character represents a real, literal ancestor of yours. Generated content that depicts real historical events is dramatisation, not record.

Acceptable use

Do not use the site to create or solicit unlawful, hateful or harassing content; do not attempt to extract, jailbreak or reverse-engineer the underlying models; do not scrape the catalogue at scale or resell any part of the service.

Content and ownership

The catalogue, site design and authored content belong to Clan Rising. The premises and messages you write remain yours — you grant us the licence needed to store and process them to run the service. You may use the stories and images generated in your adventures for personal, non-commercial purposes.

Liability

The site is provided without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, and any dispute belongs to the Australian courts. If you are a consumer in Australia, nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies the guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law; where a purchase fails to meet those guarantees you are entitled to the remedies it provides.

Changes

We may update these terms as the service evolves; the effective date above will change when we do, and continued use after a change means acceptance. Questions are welcome through the contact form.
