The Château de Montbrun is a medieval castle in Dournazac, Haute-Vienne, France, built from the 12th century and remodelled in the 15th century. It stands within a deep valley and is surrounded by water. The castle retains a tall square Romanesque keep with machicolations, high curtain walls and round corner towers on a rectangular plan.

Rectangular-plan stone castle set in a deep wooded valley, surrounded by a broad water-filled moat that reflects its facades. Thick curtain walls punctuated by round corner towers with crenellated tops; a narrow, tall square Romanesque keep rises close against one corner tower, topped with machicolations and crenellations. Wall stone is weathered grey-brown masonry; windows are narrow medieval openings. At prime the fabric is complete, walls continuous and towers intact, with an unbroken battlemented roofline.

The Château de Montbrun was built in the 12th century to defend the borders of the Duchy of Aquitaine, standing within a deep valley and protected by water. The Brun family — styled Montbrun after 1366 — remained its owners until 1516.
Rebuilt in the 15th century on a rectangular plan flanked at the corners by round towers, the castle keeps its moat, high walls and a narrow Romanesque keep topped with machicolations, pressed close against one of the towers — a juxtaposition that gives it a strange appearance. The property was later divided up and sold as national property; the castle was restored in the late 19th century and bought in 1995 by the Dutch businessman Maarten Lamers.
