Coronation Frankfurt, 1612

Frankfurt in 1612 is the imperial coronation city at the height of its ritual life: the electors ride into town for Matthias's crowning, the market fills with visiting princes, and the river brings the trade that feeds the festivity. This walk moves from the river approach across the Alte Brücke into the compact old town, following pageant routes, market booths and the narrow lanes of the Judengasse to the town's northern tower vantage.
