Pogradec Fortress
Pogradec Castle is a ruined hilltop fortress above the town of Pogradec in eastern Albania, located 205 metres above Lake Ohrid. The site occupies an Illyrian settlement dating to the 5th century BC and today survives as low stone ruins and scattered foundations on a terraced slope. The castle area is the subject of proposed archaeological excavation and conservation.

The site reads as low, fragmentary limestone walling and scattered boulders set into a dry, terraced hillside above a large lake. Surviving masonry appears as short stretches of rubble-faced stone with occasional larger fitted blocks, pale grey to beige in colour. Vegetation is sparse dry grass and scrub between the ruined walls; terraces cut across the slope. The summit forms a shallow enclosed crest overlooking Lake Ohrid, with no standing towers visible today.
