Symmetrical three-part façade of rubble stone with brick-framed window openings and dressed stone quoins; the central corps is lower than the flanking pavilions, all topped by steep slate roofs pierced by tall brick chimneys. The château sits behind an ornamental wrought-iron gate across a broad gravel forecourt, with a continuous moat and reflective water mirrors between the house and the park. The building presents regular rows of vertically proportioned windows and a horizontal roofline interrupted by chimneys.

The Château de Saint-Georges-Motel in the Eure was built in the early 17th century, its main block flanked by two side pavilions and set within a surrounding moat. The estate's history runs deeper: a residence here served Eudes II Rigaud, Archbishop of Rouen, from 1247 to 1276, and from 1427 the Motel lands belonged to the Chevalier Jehan de Pilliers, remaining in his family until the French Revolution.
During the Second Empire the park was transformed for the Comte de Pourtalès-Gorgier by Louis-Sulpice Varé, designer of the Bois de Boulogne. In 1922 the American heiress Consuelo Vanderbilt, then married to the aviator and industrialist Jacques Balsan after her divorce from the 9th Duke of Marlborough, purchased the château as a summer house, Winston Churchill was a frequent visitor.
After the Second World War it passed to the sculptor Diana Guest Manning, a relation of the Spencer-Churchill family; by 1978 it was again in American hands, listed for sale at ten million francs. The château and its water features are protected as a French historical monument, listed on 9 June 1977.
