A 16th‑century French château set within the village of Pouy‑sur‑Vannes: a compact, multi‑storey masonry residence with a period roofline and regularly spaced window openings across its façades, a clear principal entrance on the front elevation, and immediate grounds/approach rather than isolated fortifications. At its prime the exterior presents a coherent Renaissance domestic silhouette and the interiors were arranged as formal reception and service rooms of the era.

The seigneurie of Pouy belonged in the Middle Ages to the Trainel family and by the early 16th century to Oger de Saint-Blaise, a man-at-arms of the king's ordinance companies. The present château — a massive square moated pavilion with a pyramidal slate roof and round corner turrets — was built in the first years of the 17th century by Hector de Saint-Blaise on the site of an older fortified house.
From 1620 Pouy passed to the Le Bascle d'Argenteuil family, who held it for nearly two centuries through five generations, from Patrice Le Bascle, baron d'Argenteuil, to Jean-Louis Nicolas Le Bascle, lieutenant-general in Champagne, who died here in 1784. His daughter carried it by marriage to the d'Herbouvilles before selling to the Fortier family in 1805.
Bequeathed in 1971 to the mutual-aid association of the Légion d'honneur, which lodged its members here, the château was sold in 2012 to the architect-decorator Juan Pablo Molyneux, who has since carried out a major restoration. It has been listed as a monument historique since 1969.
