Roxborough Castle
Roxborough Castle, near Moy in County Tyrone, was built in 1738 and remodeled in the 19th century into a French château-style country house for the Earls of Charlemont. Major remodelling occurred in 1842 and again from 1864 with interior fittings brought from Charlemont House in Dublin. The house was burned out by the Irish Republican Army in 1922.

A large rectangular country house in the manner of a French château: a three- to four-storey rubble or ashlar stone block with very steep mansard roofs, tall chimneys and ornate dormer windows with triangular pediments. Matching low two-storey wings run the full length of the main block above a visible basement; window pediments and cornices were applied to unify old and new work. The entrance front is set to the side with a low portico, and the house stands within parkland with a balustraded terrace to the lawn.

Roxborough Castle at Moy, County Tyrone, was built in 1738 and served, along with Charlemont Fort, as the seat of the Earls of Charlemont. In 1842 the architect William Murray remodelled it for the second earl, adding full-length wings in his restrained Italianate style, triangular window pediments to the original block, and a new three-bay entrance front with a low portico — the result a house in the style of a French château.
A conservatory by Richard Turner was added between about 1850 and 1855, and from 1864 the third earl remodelled further under the architect William Barre, installing fittings brought from the family's Dublin home, Charlemont House. The house was burned out by the Irish Republican Army in 1922 and survives as a ruin.
