Deel Castle
Deel Castle is a 16th‑century tower house built by the Bourkes near the northern end of Lough Conn in County Mayo, Ireland. Later known as Castle Gore after passing to the Gore family, the castle had an 18th‑century wing added; the adjacent 18th‑century country house was burnt in 1922. The old tower house survived largely intact into the early 20th century and today stands as a ruin.

A tall, rectangular 16th‑century stone tower house attached to a lower, long range that served as an 18th‑century wing; the main tower rises several storeys with narrow slit windows and an arched ground‑floor entrance. Stone is pale grey rubble masonry with ashlar dressings at openings; the wing has a prominent rusticated doorway. The group sits on low pasture beside the River Deel near Lough Conn, with a low curtain wall extending from the tower and an open grassy foreground.

Deel Castle is a 16th-century tower house of the Bourkes, standing close to the northern end of Lough Conn near Crossmolina, County Mayo. After Colonel Thomas Bourke fought on the side of King James II in the Williamite Wars, the property was forfeited and given to the Gore family, afterwards Earls of Arran, who renamed it Castle Gore.
Towards the end of the 18th century the castle and lands were leased to James Cuff, Lord Tyrawley, who in 1791 built a house beside the old Bourke castle. That 18th-century house was burnt in 1922; the old tower, which had survived largely intact into the early 20th century, now stands as a ruin.
