The shape it held in its prime.

A large rectangular three‑storey Palladian house of pale limestone with a symmetrical east façade: aligned sash windows in regular rows, a central triangular pediment above the main entrance, and a low‑pitched slate roof punctuated by tall rectangular chimney stacks. Lower white‑rendered service wings extend from the main block to the right, and a balustraded terrace runs along the west side above landscaped lawns that slope to a broad ornamental lake; woodland and rounded hills form the distant backdrop.
