A long rectangular three-storey main block with a red-tiled gabled roof is flanked at either end by massive cylindrical corner towers capped by conical red tile roofs and finials. The upper walls are smooth white plaster with a regular band of small rectangular windows with dark shutters; the lower storey is rough, light-brown dressed stone forming a plinth. A multi‑arched stone bridge leads to an entrance set into the wall; the castle sits on a grassy slope surrounded by trees.
