The shape it held in its prime.
A compact stone fortress rising above the left bank of the Guadalquivir, dominated by a taller central keep (Homenaje) and two principal towers: a square tower named Cuadrada and a round tower named Redonda; these major towers are linked by continuous curtain walls of masonry. The castle shows the restored medieval silhouette achieved after early 20th-century reconstruction, with an overall fortified block form visible from the river and town.
