Oberhofen Castle
Oberhofen Castle is a lakeside castle on the shore of Lake Thun in the municipality of Oberhofen, Canton of Bern, Switzerland. The complex combines a 13th-century masonry keep with Bernese Baroque and mid-19th-century Romantic additions and today houses a museum branch of the Historical Museum of Bern.

The shape it held in its prime.
Sited directly on the shore of Lake Thun, the castle is built around a roughly rectangular medieval keep (about 11 × 12.5 m) of very thick masonry, with later multistorey wings attached. A round water tower at the lake edge is topped by a tall, fanciful spire; a glazed Garden Room projects toward the water. Rooflines vary—steep gables, hip roofs, dormers and chimneys—while a 2.5 ha park slopes away to the south. At prime the complex is complete and occupied.
