V-3 cannon
The V-3 (Vergeltungswaffe 3) was a German World War II multi-charge long-range gun concept. Large full-size installations were being built into the limestone hill at Mimoyecques in northern France, with inclined gun drifts, underground railway and magazines; shorter half-barrel guns were also emplaced at Lampaden and used to bombard Luxembourg in late 1944.

A steep limestone hill pierced by a broad concrete slab with large rectangular gun exits and heavy steel plate covers; steep inclined drifts packed with rails, ladders and bolted tubular barrel sections; timber and steel support frames, winches and large geared hoists at slope heads; thick concrete blockhouses and small bunkers nearby for ammunition; exposed earthen spoil and woodland above the installations. Materials are raw concrete, riveted steel, timber framing and exposed rock, at scales of tens to over a hundred metres.
