Château du Champ de Bataille
The Château du Champ de Bataille is a 17th-century Baroque château in the Eure department of Upper Normandy, built for Alexandre de Créquy between 1653 and 1665. It sits in formal French gardens on a broad low plain between the rivers Risle and Iton and has been restored in recent decades with its historic parterres and bosquets reconstructed.

The shape it held in its prime.
A long, symmetrical brick and stone Baroque corps de logis with steep slate mansard roofs and a central stone pavilion capped by a small domed lantern; the facades show alternating red brick panels and pale stone quoining and horizontal dressings. A straight cobbled drive and gravel forecourt lead to a pedimented central entrance with tall arched windows above. Formal parterres of clipped box and aligned alleys extend from the forecourt into a geometric French garden.
