Neues Schloss
The New Castle in Ingolstadt is a large 15th-century Gothic secular residence in Bavaria begun under Louis VII and completed under the Landshut dukes. Built on older foundations, the surviving building is a white-rendered, multi-towered complex now used for the Bavarian Army Museum. Its architecture combines tall, steep red-tiled roofs, several towers and a long gabled façade.

A broad white-rendered stone complex with steep red clay-tile roofs and multiple tall, pointed roofed towers; facades pierced by small, regularly spaced rectangular windows and a blue-and-white painted decorative band around the upper wall. The silhouette is dominated by a large rectangular main block with a high central gabled roof and at least three tower blocks, a tall square tower on the right and two narrower, sharply pointed towers to the left. The building sits amid trees at the edge of the town.

The New Castle in Ingolstadt ranks among the most important Gothic secular buildings of 15th-century Bavaria. Its builders were Louis VII, Duke of Bavaria-Ingolstadt, and Duke George the Rich of Bavaria-Landshut, both of the Wittelsbach dynasty; the present structure rose largely on older foundations and was finished by 1489 under the Landshut dukes, as the surviving detailed building invoices attest.
The white-rendered, multi-towered complex, tall, steep red-tiled roofs, several towers and a long gabled façade, now houses the Bavarian Army Museum. Its neighbour, the Old Castle, a medieval fortress of the 13th century, is today called the Herzogkasten.
