Rocca dei Borgia
Castello Borgia (Rocca di Nepi) is a historic castle in Nepi, Lazio, expanded by Rodrigo Borgia and later renovated by the Farnese. The fortress is formed by a broad square of high curtain walls with rounded towers at each corner and a dominant tall cylindrical keep. It was damaged in the late 18th century and today survives as a partially ruined monument.

A compact, squared fortress of warm beige ashlar stone with high, continuous curtain walls enclosing a large central piazza; rounded circular towers sit at each corner while a much taller cylindrical keep (donjon) rises above the curtain with a pronounced corbelled machicolation band and crenellated parapet. Wall tops have continuous battlement walkways and narrow arrow slits; the castle stands on a slight raised platform overlooking the town with an even roofline of battlements and towers, fully intact at the time.

The 16th-century fortress was expanded by Rodrigo Borgia and originally refurbished for Lucrezia Borgia, from whose family it takes its name. It forms a broad square of high curtain walls enclosing a large piazza, with a circular tower at each corner and a dominant tall cylindrical keep.
The Farnese later renovated the fortress. Damaged in the late 18th century, it survives today as a partially ruined monument; a sketch of the castle is held in the permanent collection of Tate Britain.
