Rzeszów Castle is a historic masonry building in the city of Rzeszów, Poland, with origins around 1600. The principal surviving composition is a symmetrical three-storey plastered block with a central multi-stage tower capped by a bulbous baroque spire. The building stands in an urban forecourt behind a low iron fence and retains a regular roofline of red ceramic tiles.

A symmetrical three-storey pale-ochre plastered main block with a central, vertically emphasised tower of four visible stages rising above the red-tiled hipped roof; the tower has a clock face on an upper stage, a rectangular window rhythm, a low balustraded terrace and is capped by an elongated bulbous baroque spire with a slim lantern and finial. The façade shows regularly spaced rectangular windows, a ground-level arched main entrance in the tower, a civic coat-of-arms plaque, a paved forecourt with a circular planting bed and an iron boundary fence, set in an urban street.

The story of Rzeszów Castle.

An early fortress stood on the site in the sixteenth century, and at the end of that century Mikołaj Spytek Ligęza built a motte-and-bailey castle close to the present castle's location, expanding it in 1620 into a "palazzo in fortezza".

On Ligęza's death in 1637 the castle was inherited by his daughter Konstancja, whose marriage to Prince Jerzy Sebastian Lubomirski brought it to the House of Lubomirski. Most of the building work of their era was carried out by Tylman van Gameren and Karol Henryk Wiedemann.

In 1820 the complex passed to the Austrian authorities, who adapted it as a courthouse and prison. Demolished at the start of the twentieth century for its poor state, only the gatehouse and bastion fortifications survive from the original complex. It was rebuilt between 1902 and 1906. The building housed a prison until 1981 and is now the seat of the provincial court.
