Fantast, also known as Dunđerski Palace, was built by Bogdan Dunđerski from 1919 onwards. His family had come from Herzegovina to Vojvodina in the late nineteenth century, and at one point he owned 1,500 hectares of land. It is said he built the lavish castle and grounds to prove he was not bankrupt, as had been rumoured; he never married, but was known for a great fondness for fine women, horses and wine.

The estate was heavily bombed in 1945 and seized by the government of SFR Yugoslavia, which proclaimed it state wealth; most of the original furnishings were removed, and only 65 hectares of the surrounding land remain with the castle. Today the complex, parkland, the Church of St George, a mausoleum, stables and sports facilities, functions as a hotel with a restaurant and public grounds.
