Castle of Warmian Bishops in Olsztyn
Olsztyn Castle (Castle of the Warmian Cathedral Chapter) is a 14th–16th century Brick Gothic episcopal stronghold in the centre of Olsztyn, northern Poland. Built around a single wing around an inner courtyard, it features a prominent eastern tower and raised brick curtain walls; the site later became the Museum of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship. Nicolaus Copernicus served here in the early 16th century and an astronomical instrument he made is preserved in the castle.

A compact Brick Gothic fortress enclosing a paved courtyard with a single long wing to the north‑east and a south‑east wing added in the 15th century; tall red‑brown brick curtain walls raised to about 12 metres; a 40‑metre eastern tower consisting of a square stone foundation with a circular brick tower above; a defensive ditch formerly leading to the Łyna River with a bascule bridge at the entrance; interior halls include a large refectory with a diamond vault and a small castle chapel.
