Old Lachlan Castle
Old Castle Lachlan is a late medieval ruined castle on a small rocky promontory on the eastern shore of Loch Fyne in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. Built by Clan Maclachlan in the 15th century, it served as the clan chief's residence until replaced in 1790 and is now a scheduled monument with a nearby medieval chapel.

As it stood in 1500
The shape it held in its prime.
A compact late-medieval stone castle set on a low rocky promontory at the edge of Loch Fyne, dominated by a single rectangular tower/keep rising above lower one- and two-storey ranges and a surrounding enclosure wall. Masonry is coarse grey local stone in regular courses; pitched slate roofs and chimneys cover the ranges at the roofline. The shoreline, tidal flats and the loch reflect the castle's silhouette, with distant hills forming the backdrop. At its prime the tower and curtain stood complete and roofed.
