Antequera's Alcazaba
The Alcazaba of Antequera is a Moorish fortress in Antequera, Spain, built in the 14th century atop earlier Roman remains. It is a rectangular fortification dominated by a very large square keep (Torre del homenaje) and a later small Catholic bell tower/chapel (Templete del Papabellotas) on its summit, with an outlying Torre Blanca connected by a line of walls.

Rectangular hilltop fortress of warm beige ashlar stone with continuous crenellated curtain walls linking two prominent square towers and a very large central square keep; the keep is surmounted by a small Catholic bell-chapel. The complex sits on a rocky rise above a compact whitewashed town, with connecting ramparts extending along the ridge to a detached Torre Blanca. Rooflines are flat crenellations and simple slit windows, the masonry visibly uniform and sunlit.

The Alcazaba of Antequera is a Moorish fortress erected over Roman ruins in the 14th century, to counter the Christian advance from the north. Rectangular in plan with two towers, its keep — the 15th-century Torre del homenaje — is considered among the largest of al-Andalus, excepting only the Comares Tower of the Alhambra.
That great keep is surmounted by a Catholic bell tower and chapel, the Templete del Papabellotas, added in 1582 after the reconquest of the town. Connected to the fortress by a line of walls stands the outlying Torre Blanca, the "white tower".
