Massive grey granite masonry rising from a rounded rocky outcrop, dominated by a tall square keep at one corner and a long curtain wall with continuous pointed merlons. The curtain connects to a low, elongated building with narrow arched windows; the battlement parapet shows a raised walkway with stone corbels beneath. The base drops to manicured lawns and clipped shrubs; scattered mature trees sit beyond the ramparts. At its prime the stonework and crenellations are intact and whole.
