The shape it held in its prime.
Long, symmetrical red-brick façade of two main storeys over a white raised basement, punctuated by evenly spaced tall sash windows and arched lintels. A steep slate roof with regularly spaced dormer windows and several tall brick chimneys crowns the house; a central projecting gabled bay rises to a slim wooden spire. A broad stone double staircase and balustraded terrace lead down to a wide, gently sloping lawn, with mature trees close to the building.
