What Tower of Hercules looked like in its prime.

A tall, square-plan stone tower of warm beige ashlar with regularly spaced recessed rectangular panels and small slit windows, set on a low circular stone platform with a parapet and grassy slope. A pronounced projecting cornice marks the transition to a smaller octagonal upper stage that carries a glazed lantern room with metal railings and a narrow spiral external feature beside it. The masonry is tightly fitted and even in tone under a clear blue sky.
