What 3Arena looked like in its prime.
A low, compact rectangular bowl with a gently curved retractable roof spanning the seating tiers; exterior surfaces of concrete, metal cladding and bands of glazing define the entrance facades. The arena reads large at street level with a broad paved forecourt and floodlight masts; inside a continuous two- or three-tiered seating bowl surrounds a flat event floor/pitch, with visible roof trusses and roof panels that can open or close over the arena.
