Kanina Fortress
Kaninë Castle (Kalaja e Kaninës) is a medieval fortress on the slopes of the Shushicë mountain near Vlorë in southwestern Albania. The site occupies a rough hillside plateau of about 3.6 hectares and today survives as scattered curtain walls and a prominent ruined tower. Its history spans antiquity through the medieval Principality of Valona.

Sits on a grassy shoulder of the Shushicë mountain, the fortress is defined by low, irregular curtain walls of roughly hewn grey limestone and a single tall rectangular tower that once dominated the site; the tower rises as a high vertical mass with a jagged top where the upper masonry is missing. The inner ward is an open grass-covered plateau with fragments of walls and rubble piles; distant low hills and the coastal plain lie visible beyond the ramparts.
