Corvin Castle
Corvin Castle (Castelul Corvinilor) is a large Gothic–Renaissance fortress in Hunedoara, Romania, built on a rock above the Zlaști River. It comprises multiple rectangular and round towers, a double defensive wall, an inner courtyard and varied residential wings. The present appearance largely reflects medieval and early modern phases and later restorations.

The shape it held in its prime.
Perched on a rocky spur above the small Zlaști River, the castle presents a jagged silhouette of tall conical and pyramidal red-tiled roofs set on grey-brown stone walls. A covered wooden bridge on stone piers leads to a fortified gate and a double curtain wall pierced by both round and rectangular towers, battlements and machicolations. Numerous windows, carved stone balconies and a central keep rise from an inner courtyard; roofs and stonework appear complete and continuous at the castle's prime.
