Overtoun Bridge

Overtoun Bridge is a stone road bridge completed in 1895 that carries the west approach drive to Overtoun House across the steep wooded ravine of the Overtoun Burn (Spardie Linn) near Dumbarton, Scotland. The bridge comprises a large central arch flanked by two smaller lower arches and has solid stone parapets along the roadway.

A three-arched, stone road bridge built of rough-faced ashlar: one large central semicircular arch spanning a wooded ravine with two smaller flanking arches lower on the slope. The carriageway is relatively narrow with a paved surface and shallow stone kerbs; low solid parapet walls run both sides, finished with stone coping and rounded terminal piers. Surrounded by dense deciduous woodland, the bridge presents a horizontal silhouette broken by the curved archways and textured masonry.
