Castello di Brolio
Castello di Brolio is a rural castle and palace in San Regolo, Gaiole in Chianti, Tuscany, long-held by the Ricasoli family. Largely rebuilt and remodelled in a Gothic Revival style under Baron Bettino Ricasoli in the 19th century, the complex sits on a raised pentagonal stone plinth and today is associated with vineyards, wine production and guided visits.

The shape it held in its prime.
A large red-brick Gothic Revival palace rising from a raised pentagonal stone plinth, with crenellated parapets and blind-arched decorative courses. The façade is punctuated by paired mullioned windows with slender columns, a small stone balconette on corbels, and a prominent cylindrical turret that climbs the corner and terminates in an octagonal, crenellated cap. Brick corbeling, circular recessed motifs and tall arched doorways mark the lower levels; the building sits in a rural vineyard landscape.
