Abergeldie Castle
Abergeldie Castle is a four-storey Scottish tower house on the south bank of the River Dee in Aberdeenshire, historically the seat of the Gordon family. The building combines a rectangular-plan 16th-century tower with a round stair turret at the south-west corner and later additions including an 18th-century wing and an ogee-roofed belfry.

The shape it held in its prime.
A four-floor rectangular-plan tower house with a round stair tower attached at the south-west corner; the tower measures roughly 35 by 28 feet with a circular stair turret about 15 feet across. Walls are thick stone masonry. An 18th-century wing extends from the main block and an ogee-roofed belfry surmounts the stair tower; a Venetian window punctures the south façade. The castle sits on the south bank of the River Dee with a lawn and upland hills behind.
