A rectangular Doric peripteral temple of white Pentelic marble raised on a three-step crepidoma, with an outer colonnade of fluted columns (eight on the short ends, seventeen on the long), a continuous entablature with metopes and a sculpted ionic frieze, and full triangular pediments at each end populated by sculpted groups; the temple sits on the rocky summit of the Acropolis, surrounded by lower ruined blocks and the steep rocky approach.
