Culcreuch Castle

The shape it held in its prime.
Rectangular three-storey tower house with an attic, parapet and slate roof, built of pale grey local stone; the original medieval tower sits against matched north and east extensions that continue the same window pattern and stonework. The façade shows regular sash windows in vertical alignment, a central entrance at ground level, visible chimneys rising through the slate roofline, and the castle stands immediately adjacent to a lawn and wooded grounds with a carriage drive approaching the front.
