Old Bailey
The Central Criminal Court, commonly called the Old Bailey, is the principal criminal court building in the City of London that houses major Crown Court sittings. The present monumental Portland stone main block was completed in the early 20th century and opened in 1907, with a prominent domed cupola topped by a gilded Lady Justice.

A monumental Portland stone block with a rusticated ground floor and arched basement windows, a central colonnaded portico with a classical pediment and broad entrance steps, and a tall domed cupola rising from a circular colonnade. The dome has a green patina and is crowned by a gilded bronze Lady Justice holding sword and scales. Stone balustrades, boundary railings and large sash windows puncture the pale ashlar façade, all at city-street scale and in good condition.
