The Deutsches Museum in Munich is a large science and technology museum whose main site occupies a small island (Museumsinsel) in the Isar river. The complex comprises a long collection building with cylindrical corner pavilions and a high rectangular clock tower, together with a library building and a congress block, and contains multiple large exhibition halls and a public library.

At one end rises a high rectangular clock tower with a large clock face. A stone quay and balustraded bridge lead to a central arched entrance; the whole complex sits directly at the Isar waterline and casts clear reflections in the river.
