The shape it held in its prime.

A broad, three-arched travertine portico set on a raised stair, flanked by symmetrical ochre and stone-faced wings; above it a second-level loggia with three large arches, a stone balustrade lined with standing statues, and a tall brick campanile with a clock and pyramidal roof at the right. Warm beige plaster and pale stone trim, classical columns and pediments on the lower story, wide steps descending to a paved piazza, iron gates in the portico openings.
