Edinample Castle
Edinample Castle is a late 16th-century Scottish Z-plan tower house on the southern shore of Loch Earn near Balquhidder. Built around 1584 for the Campbells of Glenorchy, it is a compact three-storey main block with projecting round towers and corbelled turrets and is a Category A listed building.

A Z-plan tower house of pale, rendered or light stone standing beside Loch Earn: a rectangular main block (approx. 43 by 27 ft) three storeys high with an attic, corbelled circular stair-turrets at the northern junctures, circular bartizans corbelled out at the north and south corners at second-storey level, and two larger four-storey round towers about 23 ft in diameter at the north‑west and south‑east corners; pitched roofs and a compact roofline, set on a wooded shore with hills behind.

The Edinample estate was granted to Colin Campbell, 6th Laird of Glenorchy, in 1547 by Henry Stewart, 1st Lord Methven, and his son 'Black Duncan' — Duncan Campbell of Glenorchy — probably built the castle in 1584. A Z-plan tower house on the southern shore of Loch Earn, it most likely incorporates an earlier tower in its eastern side, with a three-storey main block, corbelled bartizans and four-storey round towers at opposite corners.
The interior and roofs were remodelled around 1790, and later centuries added a two-storey porch, a corrugated-iron office of 1870 and an early 20th-century five-storey addition that completely enclosed the south-eastern tower. Derelict by the 1960s, the castle was renovated as a private family home by a series of owners between about 1968 and 1998, when all the external additions except the office were demolished. It was designated a Category A listed building in 1971.
