London Stadium is a multi-purpose outdoor stadium in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Stratford, east London. Built for the 2012 Summer Olympics, it is an elliptical, two-tier bowl with a large ringed roof and a sunken athletics track and field at its centre.

Elliptical, sunken concrete bowl with a permanent lower tier of seating and a lighter demountable upper tier; an open central arena contains a 400 m athletics track and grass infield. A broad podium and paved plaza wrap the base. A continuous white steel truss-ring rises above the rim, supporting translucent roof panels that sweep around the oval leaving the centre open. Facade cladding around the bowl is geometrical and the stadium sits on a low island of waterways and parkland.
