What Old Town Hall looked like in its prime.

Three-bay yellow-brick Italianate frontage with an arcaded ground floor of three round-arched openings with green-painted glazing and doors, and a first floor punctuated by a tall central round-headed window flanked by circular windows in the outer bays. Full-height pilasters divide the bays and a deep timber-framed pediment with a circular oculus sits above. At roof level a small louvred cupola with a clock face and a metal weather vane crowns the slate roof; overall well-proportioned and intact at its prime.
