Piazza Venezia
Piazza Venezia is a central urban square in Rome where several major streets meet, dominated by the Monument to Vittorio Emanuele II (the Vittoriano) and flanked by large palazzi including Palazzo Venezia and the Palazzo delle Assicurazioni Generali. It forms a transportation and ceremonial hub at the foot of the Capitoline Hill and the start of the Via dei Fori Imperiali. The piazza's present arrangement results from late 19th–early 20th century remodelling around the Vittoriano.

Three monumental palaces bound the other sides: Palazzo Venezia with its warm brick façade and small covered balcony, the pale neo‑Renaissance Palazzo Bonaparte, and the pale stone Palazzo delle Assicurazioni Generali with a corner tower. Scattered stone lamp‑posts, Italian stone pines and bronze statues on high pedestals punctuate the open space.
