Santa Maria sopra Minerva is a minor basilica of the Dominican order in Rome, sited on Piazza della Minerva one block east of the Pantheon. The church dates from the late 13th century with later Renaissance and Baroque modifications; its Gothic interior and chapels contain important artworks including Michelangelo's Cristo della Minerva and frescoes by Filippino Lippi.

A broad, flat pale-stucco Renaissance façade with shallow pilasters and a heavy classical entablature; a large central dark wooden double door beneath a triangular pediment, flanked by two smaller doors under round lunettes, and three circular oculi (a larger central rose above the pediment and two smaller round windows). Low stone steps lead to the entrance across an open piazza; the façade is set between tight urban buildings and capped by a shallow tiled cornice.
