Seville Cathedral
Seville Cathedral (Cathedral of Saint Mary of the See) is a vast Gothic cathedral in Seville, Andalusia, built on the site of an Almohad mosque and incorporating its courtyard and former minaret (the Giralda). It is one of the largest churches in the world and contains numerous chapels, a monumental Gothic altarpiece, and royal funerary monuments.

A massive cream-coloured ashlar Gothic mass with a long rectangular plan, vertical pinnacles and crenellated parapets, flying buttresses and tall pointed-arch traceried windows. The Giralda rises as a tall square tower capped by a Renaissance belfry and the bronze Giraldillo statue. The east–west roofline is broken by a central crossing lantern (cimborrio) with ornate vaulting; at ground level the building sits beside a paved plaza and a formal courtyard (Patio de los Naranjos) with a fountain and orange trees.
