What Royal Palace of Brussels looked like in its prime.

A long, symmetrical three-part stone façade in pale grey ashlar with a central six-column colonnade and triangular pediment, topped by a slate mansard roof and a low central dome; two curved side galleries end in pavilions. Rows of regularly spaced sash windows, balustraded terraces and a broad first-floor balcony sit above a rusticated ground floor. In front are three dug-in rectangular parterres, gilded iron railings and ornate gates set behind a wide cobbled square with bronze-green lampposts.
