Englischer Garten

The Englischer Garten is a vast public landscape park in Munich laid out in the English garden style beginning in 1789. It comprises broad lawns, winding streams, the Kleinhesseloher lake, beer-garden complexes and built follies such as the Monopteros, the Chinese Tower and the Rumfordhaus. The park extends north from the city centre into the Hirschau and was designed to be freely accessible to the public.
