The Temple of Vesta is a small circular Roman tholos at the eastern end of the Roman Forum that housed the sacred fire tended by the Vestal Virgins. Its plan comprised a round cella within a peristyle of twenty Corinthian columns set on a marble-faced podium, adjacent to the Regia and the House of the Vestals. The surviving remains combine ancient masonry with modern restorations of several column bays.

A compact circular tholos about 15 metres across, set on a high circular podium with wide frontal steps. A ring of twenty fluted Corinthian columns stands on pedestals around a round cella; columns and podium faced in white marble and travertine, capitals richly carved. The roof was a low truncated cone of timber and terracotta tiles with a central oculus to let smoke escape. The temple occupies the eastern edge of the paved Roman Forum beside the Regia and the House of the Vestals.
