A compact fortified manor of red-brown sandstone built around a central open quadrangle, with ranges of two-storey stone buildings forming three sides and a defended curtain wall with projecting corner towers. The main façade presents a simple arrangement of small, originally external-windowless elevations pierced by a central arched entrance; steep stone roofs with a few tall chimneys punctuate the roofline. The house sits within parkland approached by a curved drive and is surrounded by mature trees.

Treago Castle, in the parish of St Weonards in Herefordshire, was built about 1500, probably by Sir Richard Mynors, and the Mynors family has owned it ever since — it remains the home of the Baskerville Mynors family, currently inhabited by a Sir Richard Mynors.
The building keeps its medieval architecture, quadrangle courtyard layout and defensive corner towers, and was recorded as a Grade I listed building in 1986. Mason's marks matching those at Raglan Castle, traced to William Herbert, 1st Earl of Pembroke, were detected following a 1975 visit by the Chief Inspector of Ancient Monuments.
Treago remains an all-year-round private family home — a north porch was added, and a fountain of 1990 by Vanessa Marston draws on ideas from the Mynors family crest — though local charity events allow the public a limited opportunity to see inside.
